Cereal and screaming

Last night was our first success with cereal. However, 45 minutes later, he was screaming like I had never heard before. His ENTIRE body was red and was gurgling he was crying so hard. It almost looked like he was straining, but I tried a bottle and that didn't work, then I tried his pacifier with a little sugar on it and he konked right out. It was like he was way overtired, even though it's weird he would be because he slept pretty good throughout the day yesterday. Either way, took mommy a good hour to get her heart back to normal. It's horrifying to see them cry like that because you don't know what's wrong or how to help them. I could've shot Brad because he was just sitting there, letting him scream, not noticing it was unlike we had ever seen so far. I brought the bottle down and I was like, hunny, something is wrong. How could he not freakin' tell?! Men, I swear to god, he pushes my very last nerve sometimes. He was still screaming and wouldn't take the bottle and Brad is still looking at the TV, I finally shut the damn thing off, I was too worried. I know I have a few more years of this, but the first time is pretty scary. So that was our night! Then Brad went to his fantasy football meeting (Dominick was in bed) and I watched a movie and my Six Feet Under.

So we'll try the cereal again tonight. My mom said if the same thing happens tonight, we'll know it's the cereal. I didn't think to burp him after because he wasn't drinking, ya know, but I'll try that, too. I'm hoping it isn't a repeat, but if it is, we'll just have to work through it!

My first thought when I read that was maybe he had a little choking incident? (like it going down wrong...) Nothing serious but enough to scare him and then that made him upset? I know when Kyle has choked a couple times, he gets all red and freaks out and then it takes a little bit to calm him back down because he was scared. ????

I have no idea. It was a while after he ate, so I don't know, unless it was his own syliva? Last night he was ok, so. But he only had a teeny tiny bit of cereal because he was getting fussy and wanted his bottle, so.
